Medical Management and Leadership Skills for Doctors
The doctor’s frequent role as head of the
healthcare team and commander of considerable clinical resource requires that
greater attention is paid to management and leadership skills regardless of
specialism. An acknowledgement of the leadership role of medicine is
increasingly evident.
'Aspiring to Excellence', Professor John Tooke
In modern
healthcare, the ability to lead, management and take responsibility for the successes
and failures of a team is as important as clinical skill. The Clinical Leadership Competency Framework,
jointly created by the NHS and the National Leadership Council, states that all doctors should develop their
leadership abilities and take an active role in the development of their team. If
you’re looking to develop confidence in your management skills, or learn more
about leadership styles and techniques, this is the course for you. If you’re
already an experienced manager, click here to view our Management
