CT / ST Interview Preparation
Even as a highly-skilled and competent doctor, a poor
interview could stand in the way of your gaining access to Specialty Training.
Most doctors spend considerable time in obtaining higher professional
qualifications but relatively little time preparing for their upcoming
interviews, to their own disadvantage; no matter how good you look on paper,
you need to be able to convince others of your competency face-to-face before you
can progress in your training.
Our CT / ST
Interview Course is designed to provide you with the tools and resources to
prepare more effectively for your upcoming interview. It’s important to
recognise that your ST interview will comprise a series of conversation, with
the aim of determining whether you are qualified to carry out the duties of the
post on offer, as well as whether you are the most suitable of all the other
applicants who have applied to Specialty Training. Unlike many other providers we believe this course is more productive in much smaller groups, which is why we run with a maximum of eight delegates. Our trainers are also fully qualified clinical practitioners with a thorough understanding of the training programme.
Features of the course
The course will focus on:
- Mock interview stations equivalent to the four stations you can expect to face at your ST interview: Research & Audit, Portfolio, Clinical Simulation, and Presentation - and coaching for each
- A full mock interview at each of the four stations followed by extensive feedback for each by our CT / ST selection experts
- Improving your interview technique through easily applicable interview techniques – learn how to build rapport with the ST selection panel and understand the significance behind body language and non-verbal communication
- Understanding your strengths and weaknesses, and how to discuss both
- Learning how use every ST question you are asked as a way of selling yourself and your abilities
